Pivot Materials is a US-based company founded in 2020. They bring sustainable biomaterials mainstream by using up to 100% bio-based materials and up to 50% less plastic in their fossil fuel-based products. Their biomaterials use agricultural waste like rice hulls, barley hulls, and coffee hulls, reducing the carbon footprint of their products and avoiding the burning of agricultural waste. Pivot Materials uses bamboo fibers in their products, which are safer, stronger, and sustainable. Bamboo has both antibacterial and antifungal properties, making it difficult for pathogens to adhere, and it absorbs carbon dioxide when it grows, making it safer for both people and the environment. Pivot Materials believes in adapting and changing from a linear plastic economy to a circular economy by reducing, reusing, and recycling materials, using compostable and biodegradable materials, and designing with end-of-life in mind.
