EcoPlastiC

EcoPlastiC is a Horizon Europe project based in Serbia. They specialize in developing novel technologies that convert mixed plastic waste into high-performance biopolymers that can be perpetually recycled. Their innovative approach involves mechano-green, chemical, and biocatalytic technologies for degradation, as well as a novel process for the preparation of highly fermentable monomer and oligomer feedstock streams through biofiltration. They also utilize microbiome processing to produce new biopolymers from these feedstocks. EcoPlastiC aims to create a highly efficient system for depolymerization of mixed plastic waste, with the goal of proposing an outline pilot plant system. Their ultimate mission is to contribute to a plastics circular economy by demonstrating the environmental and economic sustainability of their solutions.
